The UDC Fall Concert features ballet, modern contemporary, lyrical, and free, improvised dance styles. Choreographic Fellow Junichi Fukuda, a professor of dance at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, has set a contemporary work on a large ensemble of students. He was selected by the dance faculty for the Department’s highly competitive Choreographic Fellowship. KU Professor Jane Barnette and Ariel Nereson, associate professor of dance at the University at Buffalo, debut a piece with ecological overlaps, working with graduate and undergraduate student dancers and collaborators from both schools. KU Dance Faculty Members Ashley Brittingham and Maya Tillman-Rayton, as well as Doctoral Student Christian Boudreaux, are also choreographing for the evening-length repertoire concert.
