The annual kickoff to the University Theatre/University Dance Company Season. Audition workshop immediately follows for those interested.

University Dance Company

Performance Dates: November 20, 21, 22, 2026

Audition Date: Wednesday, August 26, 5:30 p.m. in 242 Robinson

Rehearsal Schedules:

• Ashley Brittingham: Wednesdays 4 - 6 p.m. & Fridays 1 - 3 p.m.
• Christian Boudreaux Rehearsals: Tuesdays 5 - 7 p.m. & Fridays 3 - 5 p.m.
• Jane Barnette, Thomas Jenson & Ariel Nereson Rehearsals: Mondays & Wednesdays 4:30 - 6:30 p.m.
  •  Ariel Nereson Residency Rehearsals: Friday, 9/18, 3 – 6 p.m.; Saturday, 9/19, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. & 2 – 5 p.m.; Sunday, 9/20, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
• Junichi Fukada Residency Rehearsals: Friday, 8/28, 4 – 7 p.m.; Saturday, 8/29 & Sunday, 8/30, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.; Monday, 8/31 – Thursday, 9/3, 4 – 7 p.m.; Friday, 9/4, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.; 
  • Retention rehearsals: Mondays 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
• Maya Tillman-Rayton Film Rehearsals: Thursdays 5 - 6:30 p.m.
• There will be a mandatory cast meeting at 1 p.m. on Friday, August 28
• Faculty Rehearsals begin August 13. Technical/Dress Rehearsals begin November 9.
  • There will be no rehearsals during Fall Break

Audition sign-up (via Casting Manager) 

• You will need to create a free profile on Casting Manager if you do not already have one
  • Use the link above to register
  • Please upload a profile photo that clearly shows your face
  • Upload a dance resume or list your experience on your profile
  • Other casting information, contacts, education, training, and awards are all optional
• Register for the audition
  • You will be asked if you are available for each choreographer's rehearsals
  • There is a calendar where you can mark specific dates you have conflicts
    • Please list as much detail as possible in the conflict notes
  • Your registration information can be updated up until the audition date

The SpongeBob Musical

Performance Dates: April 10, 11, 16, 17, 18, 2027

Audition Dates: Friday, September 11 & Sunday, September 13, 1:30 - 4 p.m., Studio 354, Murphy Hall

• Dancers should attend the University Theatre open call auditions
• If a musical theatre audition is new to you and you don’t have all of the audition materials ready, do not let that stop you from auditioning. 
  • Monologues are not required for dancers
  • Be prepared to sing a short selection of a musical theatre song of your choice or from "Best Day Ever."
