Department of Dance - Admissions and Scholarships

Admissions & Scholarships

Dance Admissions

You must declare a dance major on your KU application for admission to the Department of Dance. You will be admitted as a dance major based on your high school record, your ACT or SAT scores, and the successful completion of an audition.

All students interested in pursuing a degree in Dance must audition. The audition will consist of a combined ballet, modern and jazz dance class.

Dance Scholarships

You must be admitted to the University in order to be considered for any financial aid. Dance scholarships are available to incoming freshman and transfer students. To be considered for a scholarship, you must attend a Dance and Scholarship audition and perform a 1 to 3 minute solo in the style of your choice (ballet, modern, jazz, world dance, etc.)
