Dance Admissions & Auditions

As of May, 2012, the Department of Dance does NOT require an audition for entry into the B.A. program.  Incoming or transfer students may declare a dance major when they apply or enroll.  At the end of the sophomore year, students will undergo a “sophomore review,” an evaluation of their academic progress and artistic growth within the program. If a student is in good standing at the end of his or her sophomore year, he or she may continue in the BA program. If a student transfers into our program after the sophomore year, he or she will be evaluated at the end of the first year of attendance.

The Department of Dance requires an audition for entry into the B.F.A. program and to qualify for scholarship eligibility.  Students are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to attend one of the two BFA-entry/Scholarship-eligibility audition dates: Saturday, November 3, 2012 or Saturday, March 2, 2013.  However, if it is impossible for a student to attend the auditions on those dates, then the Department of Dance will accept video auditions through Acceptd (http://app.getacceptd.com/kudance.)  Currently enrolled students may audition for the BFA program at the end of the academic year.  Students are allowed to audition for the BFA program two times.
